“Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder, and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be.”
— Carrie Fisher
Fun loving, vibrant and a natural Mum is how I would describe Sarah. We got together just before Christmas to document her second pregnancy – and it was really fun.

Fun and funny actually. During that session we came up with many creative (and ridiculous) ways in which we could get the baby out. Sarah was nearing the end of her pregnancy, feeling the heat of summer and ready for Baby Number Two (who is a sweet little girl!!) to make an arrival.

We talked about how hilarious it would be if the baby came during the session, and while we were laughing about it, I was having a slight panic, that if the baby came when we were a fair distance out of town – I’d be doing the driving back to Bathurst, calling her husband and generally trying “not to panic”…

How amazing is Sarah’s dress? She chose this gorgeous piece as she was comfortable in it, which is always a must when you’re pregnant – but she also thought it would be a beautiful contrast against the bushland backdrop we chose for the session.

One other notable moment happened during out session, right before I took this photo,

A passing motorcyclist whizzed by us. Sarah and I looked in shock at each other – did he just ride past us, while checking his mobile phone? It seems he did! Sure enough, one frame before I have a shot of Sarah, turning her head to look at the motorbike rider (it was really loud!), and him in the background, checking his phone! We couldn’t believe it…

Thank you Sarah for letting me part of this special time, Congratulations on the arrival of little Melody, who is absolutely sweet and delightful!
I have to share my favourite from the session – I have two actually.
First, this one – because I feel this really shows Sarah as I know her!

Secondly, the light was just in the most perfect spot, and I’ve come to adore this photo as I was looking through the shots from the session – and it was one I had a lot of feedback from when I posted it on Facebook.

I’m Jo! I'm the friend with the camera in my hand, always. I'm the person who makes her husband pull over multiple times on a car trip, because I have to take a photograph right.this.second. I’ve lost count of how many cameras I have had over the years and I’ll always want the newer one that just came out
