A personal project for 2015.
I’m struggling along with taking my images and getting them out into the world. I’m enjoying shooting with a theme and a purpose and trying to capture some of the little things around me that make up my world. I’m totally slack at sharing them, but I have been trying to do so on my Facebook page and on my google+ page.
If you’d like to see my project for January, you can do so here. February threw out some interesting themes.
6/52 – Abandoned
I had been working on a Personal Project (which you can view here) and had been out setting that up the day before I was due to shoot it. Something about the bush and the boat made me think – “Abandoned”. It was ridiculous really, the boat in the bush looked ridiculous, but also happy there at the same time. I’m in love with this boat, it’s so awesome! I’ve been lucky enough to have it on loan from a friend of mine – it’s a unique little piece that’s for sure!

Abandoned
7/52 – Black and White
I have lovely light in my bathroom, in fact many bathrooms do. I love bath time with my kids because they really sort of forget that I am there and play so happily. They’d play for hours if the bath water didn’t get cold. The kids have an obsession with all things “stick on” in the bath at the moment, so this little crab that features in this picture, is only one of a whole family of sea creatures who are loved by these little hands each night.

Black and White
8/52 – Same but different
We took a family holiday to Port Stephens, and it was amazing. I’ll share more about that later. While we were there we went to this amazing beach, it was stunning. These pylons make up the entry way to the beach, nestled among some huge sand dunes – and each one has it’s own dented character.

Same but different
9/52 – Shapes

Shapes
I probably stretched the meaning a bit here, but this is what life looks like with toddlers. This is what life looks like when you attempt to go into the office and they decide that they can do some home decorating with your “sign here” stickers. Pretty isn’t it?
They worked together to place these all over the wall near their toys, so proud of their achievements, it’s the little things that make life fun isn’t it?
These are the photographers I am working with on this project. We’re all at different stages of documenting it, but if you check out their blogs you can see their work. It’s amazing to be working with such an awesome group of women who support and inspire me with every photo I take.
Kimberly Tank Photography, Shutterbean Photography, Wojo Image, Close Your Eyes Photography, Marena Beck Photography, Songbird Photography, Life Unstill, Defining Moments, Gina Holt Photography, MZ Photo, Floyd Family Photography
Enjoy! Let me know what you think below – which was your favourite this month?

I’m Jo! I'm the friend with the camera in my hand, always. I'm the person who makes her husband pull over multiple times on a car trip, because I have to take a photograph right.this.second. I’ve lost count of how many cameras I have had over the years and I’ll always want the newer one that just came out

I love them all, but am really drawn to the black & white tub shot 🙂 I love seeing others’ interpretations of the weekly themes. Great work!

These are beautiful, Jo. I love your interpretation of the themes. I’m particularly fond of the photo of the strange pyramid pylons – mostly because I’ve never seen one before. I love how you are finding beauty in the everyday.

Thanks Willy! I’m really just trying to find the time to do it with purpose. It’s a fine art getting this image taken sometimes haha.
