Project 52 – A personal project for 2015.
July 2015
July was a big month for photos with many of our weeks falling this month, so I have a whopping five images to share with you. It snowed in Bathurst in July, and on the day a photo was due for “playtime”.. could that have been any more perfect? I shared some other snowy shots on Instagram on the day too.
This month the themes were childhood, outdoor, playtime, simplicity, flare. I really enjoyed the photos this month, but my favourite image was the one I took for “playtime”.
Week 27 – Childhood
I especially loved this photograph. Mostly because of the contrast of the crazy almost lime green grass in Canowindra at the time, but just because it is my two little people. Holding hands. Loving each other. Sisters. Twins. Them. I was just standing there talking to them about something entirely different when they held hands to go somewhere. Right time, right place, camera in hand. So glad I got it.

Week 28 – Outdoor
There was quite a bit of cold wet weather around and I really felt like everything was cold and wet. The house. Our shoes. The grass. The town. This was a random post that I took a photo of when we were having a rare moment out and about, but I feel like you can almost touch the wood and feel the damp.

Week 29 – Playtime
This is the day it snowed in Bathurst. It was a glorious day weather wise. My children saw their first ever snow! They played in it, tasted it, lay in it, ate it and tried to take it home. Of course in winter, we also couldn’t go anywhere without our “Frozen” themed gumboots. Memories are made of these sorts of days.

Week 30 – Simplicity
This picture itself isn’t that simple. There is a lot going on, but I felt that the lone feather on the ground when everything else was plant related lent itself to this theme. It really stuck out because of it’s bright white contrast against the dirty and dark ground.

Week 31 – Flare
Have you ever driven through town on a Sunday afternoon? It’s almost eerily quiet. That’s what made me think of getting this shot. I had to wait until the sun was in just the right spot, but I thought the gates looked really great. I did think it had a slightly eerie feel to it all as I was standing on the street there waiting to take the shot. My husband and kids were in the car, having tagged along for the ride, but as I waited for the sun – it was quite a long wait – I felt really alone without the sound of cars, people and life going on around me.

If you’ve stuck with me this far, you’ll know I’m horribly far behind on blogging this project, but I do aim to be caught up before too long. It’s amazing what time off from work give you the power to do!
You can check out Project 52 for January, February, March, April, May and June if you fancy seeing more into my life.
